lyrics

OLD POEMS
1) Sometimes I can’t stare and clouds come.
Before anyone can dance, I’m gone,
A peanut on the moon
Rubbed up against history
Flying into manifold cloud formations,
Feeling invisible
Smiling into the thunderstorm.
2) The town has a city that explodes.
Why it eats the rims of a bicycle, I don’t know.
The electricity was a finger laced up with ribbons, worms and snails
Inside fruit where the powdered airplane eats sugar beets
Flying in the secret pockets of the wind
Drumming a silent rhythm on the box of fear.
3) Smell a lot of roses eating trashy cassettes in painted red boots.
Eat camels and I’ll go on for as long as my spine heard a dog and the memory ate a camel.
Eat a camel in bed.
Sheets of borrowed sugar.
Songs of wine and the pierced elephant’s Marilyn Monroe eyes.
(old poems, 1994-1996)
